Here is some information about my application Mariwell - Public:
This application allows a user to select from a drop-down menu the option to update a database spreadsheet from another spreadsheet which acts as a form. The application will update the database with the form information and then check that these updates are correct before renaming the form spreadsheet and moving it to an archive folder. The following is a step by step description of how to use the application -
- Step 1: Install the application on the Google Account you will be using to edit forms, a menu item for "Mariwell" will be added to your add-ons drop down.
- Step 2: Make sure your form contains a data sheet containing a single one row table with headings that match your database spreadsheet. This table may take information from other sheets using formulas and is where the application will draw its information from when run. The following headings are required but may be left blank: Transaction Code, Submitter, Timestamp, Revision - these next headings are required but must be populated by the user: Database ID (Spreadsheet ID for database spreadsheet), Database Sheet (Sheet Name within the database spreadsheet to update), Archive ID (folder ID for the archive folder) - and finally these headings are required but may have any value: Form Name and Form Revision.
- Step 3: When you are ready to submit your form (it is filled out completely and the data sheet is updated) select "submit inventory updates" from the Mariwell add-on dropdown
- Step 4: A dialog box will appear with your submission information showing the current state of the database and the proposed updates indicating if this is a revision or not. If everyything looks good click submit otherwise click the "X" in the top right to leave.
- Step 5: If submission is succcessful a new window will appear with a submission recipit in the form of text and a QR code. The database will have been updated with your edits and the form you submitted will be renamed and moved to the specified archive folder for safe keeping. You may now safely exit out of the popup window.
